Viña Camino Real
History
The vineyards were originally part of a larger property, “Hacienda el Arrayán,” which was owned by the Jesuit Order in 1879. The plantation is located on the northern portion of the Cachapoal Valley, in an area known as “Angostura de Paine”. Angostura translates as narrowing and the name mirrors the fact that at this geographic point, the Andes and Coastal ranges draw nearer to each other to the point of almost touching each other. The weather provides unbeatable conditions for winegrowing, particularly for the production of reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmènere.
Wine area as the Holy Trinity, referring to its deep calcareous soils, Mediterranean climate and vineyards free of phylloxera.experts around the world know this
This last vertex of the triangle is very important, because the absence of phylloxera means that plants were not grafted but are the direct descendants of vines brought from France during the 19th century. This is the privileged location where “Camino Real” produces for your pleasure its exceptional, unique and stylish wines.
